Here’s a great centerpiece that you can make for your dining table this Christmas. It’s simple to make, but it does involve you being able to hide an extension cord.
Mrs. Blogs and I have used this centerpiece on many occasions, not just Christmas. Here’s what you are going to do.
First, you need a fairly decent size punch bowl. The kind that has a split base is preferable, but not necessary. You will also need a string of lights. You can pick a color theme if you like. We just use the multi-colored strands, because the glimmering effect of the lights shining through the glass is beautiful. You will also need some ornaments. We have used the glass ball ornaments, pine cones or garland and ornaments to fill up the bowl.
Turn the punch bowl upside down. You are going to put the strand of lights in the base of the punch bowl for this Christmas centerpiece. You will have to run an extension cord down the table and to a plug. A Christmas theme table runner will hide the cord from view and remember to tape down the cord on the floor so no one trips on it.
Then just decorate the top of the bowl with whatever Christmas decorations you decide on. This centerpiece for your dining table can be used during Thanksgiving or other holidays by using the right lights and decorations.
Here’s a picture so that you can get the idea.
